Background: Contraception and sexual health are a fundamental human right an integral part of women’s services. Postpartum period is the unique opportunity for counseling availing contraception. COVID-19 pandemic hindered routine special services like postpartum clinics has negative impact on family planning Aims Objectives: The objective study was to compare change in contraceptive due two consecutive financial years (2019–2020 2020–2021) at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College Hospital, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Materials Methods: An institution-based, retrospective, cohort carried out Hospital among users department year 2019–2020 2020–2021. During period, 226,700 beneficiaries attended 98,584 Template generated MS excel sheet analysis done SPSS software. Results: 2019–2020, 94.73% availed combined oral contraceptives while 2020–2021, 93.97% contraceptives. Lap ligation decreased by 96.42%, post-abortion 85%, Interval IUCD 79.62% PAIUCD 76%. OCP used maximum beneficiaries, that is, 219,654 2020–2021 97,353 beneficiaries. Conclusion: pandemic, suffer huge setback as it does not came under emergency With ongoing crisis continuous need contraception, there refocus motivate eligible couples long-acting reversible methods with significantly lower failure rates.
